Melissa Roberts was born in New Orleans, produced experimental 2-D and 3-D and collaborative projects in New Orleans, North Carolina, Florida, and New York and abroad in France. She attended LSU - School of Art and pursued studies in textile design at FIT in New York and returned to New Orleans in 2006 to develop her digital art and sculpture studio. Since 1996, her independent research has been focused on the areas and issues of ecological economics, human rights, social justice and environmental concerns (specifically toxic pollution of air, soil and water, deforestation, nuclear power, global climate change and sustainable design). More recently Roberts has begun to explore the affects of mass production and mass marketing and advertising on independent thought and creative growth and development. Roberts' works are held in a number of private collections in Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Louisiana, New York and the UK.
